New Mining Equipment Lubumbashi Facility
DESCRIPTION
This new Caterpillar facility in the DRC is a multi-building facility comprising of an admin building, workshops, a paint shop and wash bay, track and welding building, and dynonometer building as well as smaller sundry buildings to complete an all encompassing facility for Caterpillar and Congo Equipment. The facility was developed to service the mining and earthmoving industry in the DRC and surrounds. An interesting fact about this facility is that the entire facility is self sustaining and run on generators. Working in the DRC posed significant logistical challenges that were faced by the project which including the aquiring of building and construction materials.
